Two readiness routes, side by side
iSystematic offers two readiness routes: AI Governance Readiness, for any regulated institution or board asking whether AI is under control, and E-23 Readiness, for Canada's federally regulated financial institutions. Each starts with a free check on nabeelkhan.com and leads to one paid diagnosis.
The question you are asked
iSystematic's readiness routes answer the question a board puts to a regulated institution's executives: is AI under control here, and can we show it? For federally regulated financial institutions in Canada the question also has a date, because OSFI Guideline E-23 takes effect on 1 May 2027.
The two routes, side by side
Each route has two steps: a free check you take yourself on nabeelkhan.com, then a fixed-fee diagnosis delivered through iSystematic.
| Route | Who it fits | Free check on nabeelkhan.com | Paid diagnosis |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI Governance Readiness | Any regulated institution, or a board asking whether AI is under control | AI Governance Readiness Assessment: twelve questions across the four layers of the MESA Framework™, with a profile per layer rather than a single grade. Free, with no sign-up. | The AI Governance Teardown: a two-week examination of how you govern AI and your models, scored against the MESA Framework. Fixed fee, shared on the Fit Call. |
| E-23 Readiness | A federally regulated financial institution in Canada with any AI system of non-negligible risk | E-23 readiness check: twelve questions over six themes, in about six minutes. Free, with no form in front of it. | The E-23 Readiness Review: three weeks, with two or three of your systems tested and a dated gap plan to 1 May 2027. Fixed fee, disclosed on the Fit Call. |
What a free check cannot tell you
A free check reads your answers, not your records; the paid diagnoses read the records.
The AI Governance Readiness Assessment asks twelve of the fifty questions in the full MESA instrument and gives a maturity profile per layer. On request, Nabeel Khan writes a reading of your profile and a remediation sequence, written by him rather than generated. The E-23 readiness check names your weakest theme, with the chapter and the template that address it, and it states no conformance level.
What it is built on
The AI Governance route scores your governance against the MESA Framework™, a deposited specification that profiles an institution at four altitudes. The E-23 route reads your model risk framework against OSFI Guideline E-23 and the five artefacts in the handbook, OSFI E-23 for AI Systems, and places each gap on the four altitudes of the MESA Framework™.
Who leads it
Nabeel Khan, Defensible AI Architect (enterprise AI architecture and AI governance for regulated institutions), founder of iSystematic, is the named practice lead for both routes and delivers both diagnoses personally.
How to start
Start with the free check for your route, then book a Fit Call: a free 30-minute video call to find the governance gap and see whether Nabeel Khan is the right person to close it. If it fits, a proposal follows within 48 hours. The free checks are on nabeelkhan.com: the AI Governance Readiness Assessment and the E-23 readiness check.
Where to go next
E-23 Readiness Review
The E-23 Readiness Review reads your model risk framework against OSFI E-23 in three weeks and leaves a dated gap plan to 1 May 2027, delivered by Nabeel Khan.
AI Governance Teardown
The AI Governance Teardown is a fixed-scope, two-week examination of how your organisation governs its AI and its models, scored against the MESA Framework™.
Training
iSystematic's enterprise training: the E-23 Practitioner Course, two days in house on your own systems, and board briefings delivered within an engagement.
Canadian financial institutions
Federally regulated financial institutions: take the free E-23 readiness check, then iSystematic's three-week E-23 Readiness Review, led by Nabeel Khan.
GCC institutions
GCC boards and executives: iSystematic's two-week AI Governance Teardown examines how your institution governs AI and ends with a one-page board summary.
Conformance is self-declared; no regulator endorses this work.
